There are plenty of activities to do in West LA/Westwood that caters to different interests and age groups. From outdoor sports, to shopping, to viewing performing arts, there is something for everyone. Below is a list popular activity spots.
Century City Mall: This is an outdoor mall with many shops and restaurants to browse through. This is a great place to spend a few hours and walk around and enjoy the beautiful whether while at the same time looking at nice stores. It is a fun social mall and also includes a movie theater just in case you’re in the mood to see a film.
Geffen Playhouse: This is a not-for-profit theater company that produces shows in two venues. There is the Gil Cates theater that holds 500 seats and Audrey Skirball-Kenis theater that holds 125 seats. The Geffen Playhouse offers five plays per season in the Gil Cates Theater and three plays per season in the Audrey Skirball-Kenis Theater as well as producing special events. Some of the shows include Through the Night, Good People, The Jacksonian, and American Buffalo.
Westwood Recreation Center: This park has an indoor recreation center and also an outdoor park with many facilities to use. The park includes several tennis courts, two basketball courts, a soccer field, an open field for animals and people to play on, and a playground. The indoor recreation center includes two racquetball courts, indoor gyms with weights, basketball court, and community room. This facility is very popular in Westwood and provides a lot of entertainment for residents in the area.
Royce Hall: Located on the UCLA campus, Royce Hall is an 1,800 seat auditorium originally designed for speech acoustics and not for music. By 1982 after a remodeling it became a regionally important concert hall and main performing arts facility of the university. There are many shows, ballets, plays, and musicals that take place at Royce Hall every year.
